Okinawan Gojuryu Karatedo was founded by Miyagi Chojun Sensei who was a personal disciple of Grand Master Higaonna Kanryo Sensei. Higaonna Sensei who spent fifteen years in China and mastered kempo in Fukkien province is regarded as a restorer of Naha-Te. Miyasato Eiichi Sensei was a disciple of Miyagi Chojun Sensei and succeeded and started to teach Okinawan Gojuryu after Miyagi Chojun Sensei passed away in 1953, and opened Jundo-kan Dojo in Naha city. The well considered and designed Gojuryu training methods and structure are maintained in Jundo-Kan Dojo.
